A very new year vibe...

Well I'm a little late wishing you all Happy New Year 2026 but my personal motto is "Better Late Than Never!"
This is so true of my life these days. I am very often late, especially since having Xavier. What - school doesn't start at 9.05 am, you're kidding me. Yes, Xavier and I go at our own pace and it's a very difficult habit to break out of, and quite honestly I don't want to. Somehow, there is a link between having a child who broke the laws of biology and my ability to conform in all other areas of life. He has forced me to slow down but also dial up my appreciation of this beautiful life. Maybe it's also a feisty forties thing too, but I'm starting to give less shits about the stuff that doesn't matter and changing my mind about what that shit actually is. Does this ring a bell for any of you ladies and gents out there?
When I reviewed the year just gone, and put some ideas down for the year ahead a couple of weeks ago, it was very clear to me that once again Yoga needed to headline. I've still got the drive and the passion.
In my last blog I wrote about the tough decision to cancel my in-person classes in 2025, at least for now. To cut a long story short, it wasn't long before I felt like a car without wheels, which led me to launch my yoga zoom classes: " Settle Down Yoga".
Does online yoga feel a bit too 2020 for you? Or just like teams meetings and WFH is online yoga one of the conveniences to emerge from recent times?
I think the main thing with anything new is just to try it. See if you think my style of teaching works this way for you.
I make each live class unique and you feel, because you are, part of an active, local community. Just get that slot in your diary and commit to it and the journey begins, or continues, depending on where we left off.
For those who can, I am absolutely available for 1:1 sessions or as many as can fit into your space. This can be booked on the website also. I was delighted to get a new 1:1 client this autumn and would love to work with more poeple in this highly personal and tailored way. Maybe it's not an option every week, no problem, just book a single session to get you on the right path. Or perhaps, book in a few times a year with me and in-between attend the zoom classes. It's all possible!
Feedback from my last 1:1 client:
"The whole experience was incredible. I will be booking another 1:1 soon!" V.J
This term, and for as long as I can, I am offering my classes for just £5 a session!!!
Can't make the session, no problem, you get the recording emailed over that day for you to save and keep.
It's been brilliant to have some new customers already, some of whom like it so much they are doing both sessions each week! They will have abs to envy! They will also be having a damn sight fewer "nightmares" or "dramas" in their life as a result of the meditation.
Yoga helps to ground your perspective; I don't think any gym or pilates class can say the same. We want abs and sanity don't we ladies and gentlemen?!!
From one drama queen to another - I would have been locked up if it wasn't for yoga (see what I mean, talk about melodrama :-)) - please don't think I'm preaching from on high. I'm changing, evolving, because it is the only way. And change can be small and it can be a backwards and forwards game; all part of the bespoke journey.....ok so I got a bit woo woo there; it's in the job description folks.
What's that quote: "Some people are there to remind you what it looks like if you don't evolve."
Ouch. Don't be one of those people my friends.
Or alternatively :
"Illegitimi non carborundum" / "Don't let the bastards grind you down!"
That's the yoga way.
So jump onto the link below and spend £5 on something which is really worth so much more.
For now, sending Love.
Katy X
